Elijah Wood Black

Funeral services for former Limestone County Commissioner Elijah Wood Black,
84, of Techuacana, will be conducted today at 2 pm in Blair-Stubbs Chapel,
officiating will be the Rev. Elmer Glazener, pastor of Techuacana First United
Methodist Church, of which Mr. Black was a member. Burial will be in Mexia
Cemetery. Mr. Black who died early Wednesday morning in Parkview Regional
Hospital was born in Techuacana on Feb 19, 1909. He was married to the former
Eunice Little and served as Limestone Commissioner, Precinct 4 for 16 years.
Mr. Black and his family operated a dairy at their home in the Techuacana
Valley area for many years, and won honors as having the World Champion Jersey
Cattle Herd for four years.
