Freestone County, Texas Obituaries The Fairfield Recorder - Feb. 24, 2011 edition DIANE JACKSON BLACK Funeral services will be held Saturday at Lone Star Baptist Church in Groesbeck beginning at noon for Diane Jackson Black, 53, formerly of Groesbeck who died Feb. 19. Interment will follow at Lone Star Cemetery in Groesbeck. Mrs. Black was born May 25, 1957 in Groesbeck to Roger and Ruby Jewel Jackson. She graduated from Groesbeck high school and later attended Rancher Jr. College where she graduated in 1977. While in college, she met and married Gene A. Black. The couple made their home in Dallas where Mrs. Black worked for Ford Motor Company. Mrs. Black was preceded in death by her mother; brother Michael Jackson; sisters Enetta and Mary Etta Jackson. She is survived by her father who lives in Groesbeck; son Gene A. Black of Las Angeles, CA; daughter Ashley Hobbs of Mexia; sisters Gloria Davis and husband Billy; Sharon Green and husband Mike; brothers Charles Johnson and wife Ellen, Wendell Jackson and wife Brenda, and Earnest Jackson and wife Charlene, all of Dallas; granddaughter Lakaysia Nyale Thomas; grandson IKavion James Owens, both of Mexia; aunts Dorothy Love of Dallas and Novella Collins of Groesbeck; and a host of other relatives and friends. Officiating services will be Pastor Wilmer R. Davis. Eulogist will be Pastor Nathaniel Bedford. Making arrangements is Pearly Gates Funeral Home of Mexia. Church is located at 629 Grayson St. in Groesbeck.
