Lee Black Funeral services for Robert E. Lee Black, who observed his 100th birthday three months ago and was subject of a feature in the Mexia Daily News, will be conducted Sunday at 3 in Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Black, born March 16, 1888, in Tehuacana Valley, was retired from Standolind Oil Company and had resided in this area all of his life. His parenst were G.D. and Irene Hall Black, pioneer residents of the Mexia and Tehuacana area. Mr. Black, who died Friday night at 10:45 in Manor Retirement and Convalescent Center, Mexia, was married to Lathie E. Weldon on Nov. 24, 1912. They celebrated 54 years of marriage; she died July 8, 1966. Officiating at the Sunday service for Mr. Black will be the Rev. Homer Tarkington. Burial will be in Wortham Cemetery. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ada Lee Bates of Orange and Mrs. Dorothy Marie Angelico of New Orleans, La; two sisters, Mrs. Susie McDonald of Shiloh and Mrs. Irene Ellis of Teague; two brothers, Dee Black of Mexia and Elijah Black of Tehuacana; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Pallbearers are George Black, Cecil McDonald, Gobin Black, Elmer Black, Richard A. Angelico and Dr. Blaise Angelico.
