Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Mrs. Tommie (Savage) Bloxom Graveside services for Mrs. Tommie Bloxom, 90, were held on Friday, March 7, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery in Teague. Bro. Steve Cowart officiated. Visitation was on Thursday with the family present from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. Bloxom passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at Fairfield Nursing and Rehab. She was born in Teague on May 30, 1923, and lived in Teague for almost all of her life. ?Mrs. Bloxom was a dedicated homemaker all of her life. She was a faithful member of Eighth Avenue Baptist Church in Teague for over seventy- three years. Mrs. Bloxom was active in numerous church activities through the years, but especially enjoyed working with small children during Vacation Bible School and sending out invitations to church events using her beautiful handwriting. She is survived by one son, Mack Bloxom of Fairfield; three grandchildren, Jarred Bloxom & wife Brenda, Kristin Ward, and Adam Wood; numerous great- grandchildren; sister-in-law, Hazel Bloxom of Teague; brother-in-law, Jack Bloxom & wife Janie of Arkansas; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mrs. Bloxom was preceded in death by her husband, Dan Bloxom; one brother, William (Bill) “Squib” Savage; and one brother-in-law, Bill Bloxom. Attending the family during funeral arrangement was Bowers Funeral Home of Teague, Texas.
