Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Mrs. Hazel Bloxom Graveside services for Mrs. Hazel Bloxom, 85, were held on Friday, June 13, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at Fairfield Cemetery in Fairfield. Bro. Paul Gauntt and Bro. Steve Cowart officiated. Mrs. Bloxom passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at Carrus Specialty and Rehab Hospital in Sherman. She was born in Corpus Christi, TX and grew up there until she moved to Teague in the 10th grade. She married Bill Bloxom on July 3, 1946, in a double wedding ceremony with Eugene and Alice Gauntt. Mrs. Bloxom was a dedicated homemaker all of her life, and a faithful member of Eighth Avenue Baptist Church in Teague for over fifty-one years. She taught the two and three year olds Sunday school class with Zelma Barger at her church for many years. She is survived by one daughter, Celinda Allen and husband Kenneth of Teague; one son, Jim Bloxom and wife Connie of Dallas; five grandchildren, Monica Allison of Mildred, Melissa McLerran and husband Kurt of Fairfield, Melinda Parson and husband Chris of Mexia, Tracy Whitten and husband Michael of Red Oak, and Kelly Kahlden and husband Ryan of Waxahachie; eleven great-grandchildren; one brother- in-law, Jack Bloxom and wife Janie of Arkansas; other relatives and friends. Mrs. Bloxom was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Bloxom, and her sister, Virginia Tritschler.
