Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Fairfield Recorder newspaper May 28, 2009 William Guy Bond Funeral services were held Tuesday for William Guy Bond, 88, of Teague who died Friday, May 22. Mr. Bond was born in Limestone County's Fair Oaks Community where he attended school. He moved to Freestone in the early 40's and served as a trustee for both Freestone and Teague Independent School Districts. Mr. Bond, a devout Baptist, also served as a deacon at Freestone Baptist Church, First Baptist Church and Eighth Avenue Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Teague Rodeo Association and a lifelong cattle rancher, who had represented Freestone County as a commissioner in the 1970's and 80's. Mr. Bond, an avid hunter, spent 49 years hunting on a lease situated between Fredericksburg and Kerrville. In his honor, his fellow hunters have dubbed the group "The Guy Bond Hunting Party." Services were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, at Teague's Eighth Avenue Baptist Church with interment following at Union Cemetery near Freestone. Mr. Bond is survived by his daughters, Sharon Johnson and husband David, and Sue Hull and husband Charles, all of Teague; granddaughters, Tina Sessions and husband Ken of Kirvin, and Julie Atchley and husband Michael of Dew; greatgrandchildren, Carly Atchley, Kenzie Sessions, Devin Sessions, and Kyle Sessions; and sisters, Lena Seay of Fort Worth and Tommye Little of Marlin. He was preceded in death by his wife of over 48 years, Dorothy Bond and his wife of seven years, Alice Bond. Funeral arrangements were made under the direction of Bowers Funeral Home of Teague.
