BONNER DIED THURSDAY NIGHT RESULT INJURIES THREE OTHERS INJURED IN SAME ACCIDENT REPORTED DOING NICELY W.A. Bonner,74, of Steward's Mill, Freestone county, died at 8 o'clock Thursday night in the P. and S. Hospital as a result, of injuries received in an automobile accident early in the morning, on Highway 75, about four miles south of Corsicana. Three other occupants of the car who were injured were doing nicely Friday at the hospital. H.A.F. Houck, 54, Dallas, sustained two fractures of his left leg and was badly bruised early Thanksgiving morning when his automobile collided with a bridge railing near Streetman after being sideswiped by another machine. His wife and 16-year-old grandson, Harry Houck, who were In the automobile were uninjured. Houck was given first aid attention at the Navarro Clinic here and was taken to Dallas in a Weiland's ambulance later in the morning. Others injured in the accident that was fatal to Mr. Bonner, were Miss Hazel Bonner, 18, fractured nose; Weldon Bonner, 15, lacerations, and Norman Belts ,25, negro, broken right arm and fractured left pelvis. It was reported a car had collided with a truck trailer and when the Bonner car was approaching occupants of the truck signaled them to stop in order to avoid another collision. The driver of the Bonner car thought the signal was a hold-up, and accelerated his speed and the crash resulted. Five occupants of the machine were brought to the P. and S. Hospital in a Corley ambulance. One of them was uninjured. Bonner's injuries included a compound fractured left leg between the knee and thigh, a broken left wrist and a broken upper left arm and a crushed left cheekbone. Funeral services will be at one o'clock Saturday afternoon with interment in the Bonner cemetery, in the Steward's Mill community. Rev. Walter Simpson, pastor of the Eureka Presbyterian church, will conduct the rites, and Stewart-Burleson Undertakers, will have charge of arrangements. He is survived by one brother, J.O. Bonner, Mexia; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Thornton, Norman, Okla., and Miss Martha Bonner, also of Norman, Okla., and other relatives. ====================================================== Dallas Morning News, Dec 30 1934. "WELL KNOWN FREESTONE COUNTY MAN LOSES LIFE IN CAR ACCIDENT W.A. Bonner, 74, of Stewards Mill, died at 8 o'clock Thursday night in the P. and S. Hospital at Corsicana as the result of injuries received in a car accident between Corsicana and Streetman early Thursday morning. Others injured in the accident were Miss Hazel Bonner, 18, fractured nose; Weldon Bonner, 15, bruises and lacerations; Norman Betts, Negro, broken arm and fractured pelvis; Miss Vivian Bonner, in the car, escaped injury. The party was on its way to Corsicana to take a train for Oklahoma to visit Mr. Bonner's sister, Mrs. John Thornton. A car had collided with a truck trailer, and when the Bonner car was approaching, occupants of the truck signalled them to stop in order to avoid another collision. Funeral services were held at Stewards Mill Saturday by Reverend Walter Simpson, burial following in the Bonner burial ground, directed by Steward & Burleson. Mr. Bonner had been a life long resident of the Stewards Mill section. He had never married, and is survived by a brother, J.O. Bonner of Mexia; two sisters, Mrs. J.C. Thornton of Norman, Okla., and Miss Martha Bonner, also of Norman. Mr. Bonner had many other relatives, and a host of friends. Other parties injured in the accident are reported recovering."
