Mexia Daily News - Feb. 22, 2005 edition Edith Elizabeth (Johnson) Bowen TEAGUE - Funeral services for Mrs. Edith Elizabeth Bowen, 83, will be Wednesday afternoon at 5:30 in Dew Methodist Church. The Rev. Jerry Anderson will officiate. Family visitation is scheduled for this evening from 6 until 8 o'clock at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home of Teague. Mrs. Bowen, a Methodist, was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, and was a Homemaker. She had resided in the Fairfield area for the past seven years and died Friday at her residence. She was born in Grand Marais, Minnesota. Mrs. Bowen was preceded in death by her parents, John and Juliana Johnson; by her husband, Ormand Ray Bowen; by a brother, Johnnie Johnson, and by a sister, Anna Crofton. Surviving are children - Ron Bowen and wife Joni of Sheboygan, Wisconsin, William Downey and wife Chris of Painsdale, Wisconsin, Rona Giese of San Francisco, California, John Bowen and wife Jane of Green Bay, Wisconsin, Dan Bowen and wife Kathy of Walnut Grove, California, Jim Bowen and wife Diane of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Julie Vaughn and husband Jerry of Fairfield; grandchildren - Angela Malueg, Lisa Bowen, Kelly Opperman, Derek Giese, Jared Giese, Noah Giese, Rachel Giese, Jordanne Bowen, Stephen John Bowen, Taylor Bowen, Bill Downey and Bob Downey; great-grandchildren - Tom and Will Opperman, Ethan Bowen, Clay Russ, Amanda and James Malueg, Stephen, Jessica and Jacob Pate, Alexa and Maria Downey; and a special friend, John Talvensaari.
