Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Fairfield Recorder newspaper March 26, 2009 Mary Marguerette (Reed) Box Graveside services were held last week for Mary Marguerette Box, 90, of Cotton Gin who died Monday, March 16, at her residence. Mrs. Box was born in Richland to Firman and Faye Todd Reed. Later she moved to Centerville, Louisiana with her husband, Branton Box. Mrs. Box was a dedicated homemaker and avid cook. She was also a faithful Christian and active at Centerville's Teche Baptist Church. Following her husband's death, Mrs. Box returned to Texas. She joined the First Baptist Church of Teague in September of 1998. Services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 21, at Teche Gardens Cemetery in Centerville, Louisiana. Mrs. Box is survived by her son, Robert Samuel Box and wife Jimmie Lael of Rockport; daughter, Elaine Luke and husband Richard of Cotton Gin; none grandchildren, Elizabeth Elayne Herbert and husband Kenny of Cumming, Georgia, Robert Wayne Box, Jr. and wife Debbie of Franklin, Louisiana, John Bayne Box and wife Danielle of Centerville, Louisiana, Neil Kearn Box and wife Laura of League City, Mark Bauer and wife Melissa of Corpus Christi, Tim Bauer and wife Michelle of Kingwood, Virginia Luke of Napa, California, Pamela Luke of Geismar, Louisiana, and Ricky Luke and wife Chris of Sonora; 20 great-grandchildren; and one greatgreat grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Branton Box and greatgrandson, Branton Stratton. Arrangements were made by Bowers Funeral Home of Teague.
