Obituaries Joyce Helen (Harrison) Boyd Funeral services were held earlier this month for Joyce Helen Boyd, 81, who died Wednesday, Oct. 1, in Waco. Mrs. Boyd was born in Fairfield on July 29, 1927, to Doyle and Earle (Emmons) Harrison. After graduating from high school, she married Jasper Roland Boyd on July 22, 1946, and made Waco her home. She worked as a telephone operator and an estimate assigner for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for 43 years. Mrs. Boyd was a member of North Waco Baptist Church, W.I.N.G.S., Telephone Pioneers and volunteered for Sul Ross Senior Citizens for 20 years. Services were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 4, at the Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Bill Pack officiating. Mrs. Boyd is survived by sons, Glen Dale Boyd and wife Penny of China Spring and David Harrison Boyd of Fort Worth; brother, Bill Harrison and wife Laura of West Monroe, Louisiana; son-in-law, Bobby McBroom of Waco; grandsons, Gary Dale Boyd and wife Nina of Flower Mound, Dave Boyd II and wife Melissa, Nathan Boyd and Jonathan Boyd, all of Fort Worth and Andrew Boyd and wife Jill of North Richland Hills; four great-granddaughters; and one great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.R. Boyd; daughter, Melinda Boyd McBroom; and her parents. Arrangements were made by Oakcrest Funeral Home of Waco.
