Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Fairfield Recorder newspaper March 5, 2009 Marvin "Cowboy" Brown MARVIN BROWN Memorial services will be held this Friday for Marvin "Cowboy" Brown, 58, of Houston who died Thursday, February 19. Mr. Brown was born in Harlem, New York on Feb. 2, 1951. He married Gwendolyn Jones on March 27, 2004 at the Jones Arena in Oakwood. Mr. Brown accepted Christ as his savior under the guidance of Dr. Terrence Woodson. He faithfully listened to the Bible every night. Mr. Brown was an avid horseman who enjoyed riding his horse Ace Wildfire Stallion Brown. Services will be held this Friday at 11 a.m. at the Blueridge United Methodist Church in Houston Officiating the services is Rev. Paul Cox. The eulogy will be given by Dr. Terrence Woodson of Bethel Bible Fellowship Church in Carrollton. Mr. Brown's body is to be cremated and his ashes scattered in New York at the east end of the Hudson River. He is survived by his wife, Gwendolyn Jones- Brown; father, George Stepney; stepmother, Thelma Stepney; son, David Hampton; daughter, Tangela Bond; sister, Denise Brown; daughterin law, Chellian Hinds; son-in-law, Bryant Bond; four grandsons, B.J., Ryan and Nygel. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his mother, Peggy Brown.
