John William Brown

TEAGUE - Funeral services for John William (J.W.) Brown, 80, of Donie, will be
held Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock in Faith Baptist Church. Charles Kimble
will officiate. Burial will be in George Cemetery, under direction of
Ricks-Bowers Funeral Home.

Mr. Brown, who died Monday at the Veterans Administration Hospital-Temple, had
resided for four years in Donie and was an active member of Faith Baptist
Church where he served as deacon. He served his country in the U.S. Army during
World war II in Europe and was awarded the Purple Heart after being wounded in
combat.

Visitation is scheduled throughout today, and the family will be present at the
funeral home this evening from 6 until 8 o'clock.

Surviving are three sons, Quannah Don Brown and wife Irene of Oyster Creek,
Bobby Boone and Henry Boone, both of Angleton; a daughter and son-in-law, Cathy
Dianne and Edward Hollingshed of Freestone; and numerous grandchildren.
