Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Mexia Daily News May Pearl Brown (1941-2011)[160] (Posted Mon) The Angelic Hosts came for Mrs. Brown on Friday, Jan. 28, 2011, in the Mexia Parkview Regional Hospital with her loving husband: Rev. Lewis E. Brown, children and numerous family members and friends at her side. Viewing will begin Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at 10 a.m. and the family will be present from 6-8 p.m. for visitation and a Wake Service. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at 11 a.m. in the First Baptist Church, 500 East Carthage Street, Mexia. Rev. L. B. Perry will be the eulogist and Rev. Lloyd Brown will be officiating. Interment will be in the Jerusalem Cemetery in Teague. Viewing at the church will be held from 10 a.m. until the service begins at 11 a.m. Mrs. Brown was born on Dec. 22, 1941 in Teague, Texas to W.H. Glenn and Johnetta Dixon Glenn. She was preceded in death by: Her father, W. H. Glenn; Brothers: Robert Glenn; Jerry Glenn; and Louis Glenn; Sister: Helen Richards; and grandparents: Lewis and Josie May Dixon. She grew up in Mexia and attended the Mexia Schools. May Pearl was baptized in Antioch Baptist Church, Mexia by Rev. Davis and she married Rev. Lewis Edward Brown. Mrs. Brown was employed by The Italian Inn Restaurant in Ft. Worth for over 35 years, and worked for the Mexia Public Schools for more than 5 years. She held membership in New Home Baptist Church of Mexia where her husband pastors and was the musician for New Home Church. Those who will cherish her memory most are: Her husband: Rev. Lewis E. Worth; and Stafon Brown and wife, Louise, Fairfield, TX; Daughters: Patricia Jackson and husband, Gary, Ft. Worth; Yolanda Davis and husband, Darren, Ft. Worth; Sylvia Hardgrove, Ft. Worth; Sisters: Lavern Perry, Ft. Worth; Shirley Whitaker, Mexia; Trancetta Brown and husband, Charles, San Antonio, TX; Gwendolyn Alexander and husband, L. Jay, San Antonio, TX; Brothers: Lindsey Booker and Willie Ray Booker both of Ft. Worth; 19 Grandchildren; 11 Great-Grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
