Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Mexia Daily News - Sep. 14, 2005 edition James Wallis Brown Funeral services for James Wallis Brown, 76, of Waco, will be Thursday afternoon, Sept. 15, 2005, at 3 o'clock in Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home Chapel; Burial will be in Wortham Cemetery. The Rev. Ken Lane, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Mr. Brown was born on Nov. 14, 1928, in Wortham to Lewis T. and Clara Williams Brown. He died Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2005, n Waco. Superintendent of Oglesby School from 1981 to 2004, Mr. Brown served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953 during the Korean Conflict. He received a Master's degree from Baylor University, and was a member of the Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Benita and Bill Sharp; a nephew and wife, Barry and Suzanne Sharp; a great-niece and nephew, Bethany and Benton Sharp; and his extended family - Kathy and Denton Papelko and family, and Twanna and Tommy Nance and family.
