Cecil Brown
Feb. 26, 1926 — April 25, 2000

Services for Cecil Brown, 74, of College Station are set for 10 a.m. Friday at
First Baptist Church in Bryan.

The Rev. Tim Owens will officiate. Graveside services are set for 3 p.m. Friday
at Lake Chapel Cemetery in Fairfield, Texas.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hillier Funeral Home in Bryan
and from 9 a.m. to the time of services Friday at the church.

Mr. Brown died Tuesday in the College Station Medical Center.

He was born in Fairfield, spent 36 years as an educator from 1950 until 1986,
serving as a teacher, principal, and superintendent. He was a member of
Business Men’s Bible Class, and a member of the Fairfield Masonic Lodge #103,
and a member of the First Baptist Church in Bryan. He served in the U.S. Navy
during World War II and was a certified deacon.

Survivors include his wife, Mary L. Brown of College Station; two daughters and
a son-in-law, Suzanne Platt of Dumfries, Va., and Donna and Jon Williams of
Sugarland, Texas; four sisters, Vera Grace Bowen of Bishop, Texas, Josephine
Cawlfield and Mytle L. Brown, both of San Antonio, and Kathryn Burton of
Mesquite, Texas; three grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
