J. Odom, Oct 23rd, and taken little Rumie Burks, for its victim. He was aged eleven years, seven months and twenty-five days. Rumie was of a bright sweet disposition, loved by all who knew him. He will be sadly missed in the new Western home of his father. Brothers and sisters will miss that sweet face, but sorrow not, he had paid the debt we all have to pay, he has gone while young, before sin and sorrow could stain. His little spirit has taken its flight to the the eternal home in realms of glory where there is no sickness or sorrow, pain nor death. Weep not, Rumie is not lost but only gone to dwell with his mother to await the coming of you. He stands just over the river beckoning you to come and dwell with him in that home on high where the dark temptations of this world can never mar his pure soul. From one who loved him. E. J. Odom
