Mrs. Katherleen Johnson Burleson


Mrs. Katherleen Johnson Burleson, 91, of Corsicana passed away on Friday, Sept. 
19, 2008 in Corsicana.

She was born on June 28, 1917 in St. Elmo. She was a member of New Hope Baptist 
Church in St. Elmo. She and her husband, JC, lived in Houston for many years 
and together they celebrated over 50 years of marriage. She was affectionatly 
known by her family and the Winkler community as "Blue Eyes".

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at Corley Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Corley Funeral Home Chapel with 
Dr. Elton McCann and Bro. Bill Honea officiating. Interment will follow in the 
St. Elmo Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Gatlin Rash, Bill Massey, Brad Van Dike, Dewayne Rash, 
Benny Pillans and Bobby Joe Clark. Honorary pallbearers will be Rex Lee Folmar, 
Jack Pillans, and Earl Minze.

Mrs. Burleson was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Burleson; parents, 
Ralph and Bonnie Johnson; and a sister, Mabel Rash.

Survivorsr include her sister, Ruby J. Burleson of Corsicana; great nephews 
and their wives, Ricky and Debbie Rash of Dripping Springs, and Steve and 
Connie Rash of Longview; numerous other nieces, nephews and cousins.
