Freestone County, Texas Obituaries The Teague Chronicle - Jan 25, 2007: (Also Groesbeck Journal - Jan 25, 2007) DORIS LANINGHAM BURLESON Doris Laningham Burleson, 88, passed away on January 15, 2007. Doris was born on January 24, 1918, in Freestone County, Texas. She and her husband, Sunlock, were married on April 28, 1934. They moved to Baytown in 1937. Doris was a homemaker, a devoted mother to her son, Joe Glenn, who was her pride and joy. She loved her Laningham and Burleson families and was dearly loved by them. She loved to talk and visit with people. Those who met her would be quickly taken by the love beaming from her sparkling blue eyes. She was a member of Trinity Tabernacle Assembly of God in Baytown. Doris will be missed and warmly remembered by those who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents Luther and Minnie Ola Ivy Laningham, her son Joe Glenn Burleson, her brother Douglas Laningham, her sisters Lois L. Dunlap and Nona L. Roberts, her nephews Gene Chandler and Doyle Laningham and her niece Jimmie R. Richey. Miss Golden is survived by her husband Sunlock Burleson of Baytown, Texas, her nieces Joyce L. Race of Red Oak, Texas, June R. Smith of Burleson, Texas, Beverly R. Farris and husband Richard of Palestine, Texas, Shirley Burleson LaVergne of Baytown, Texas and Jean Burleson Creekmore of Baytown, Texas, her nephews Weldon Chandler and wife Nellie of Pasadena, Texas, Haskell S. Roberts of Dew, Texas, Dennis L. Roberts of Daingerfield, Texas, Kenneth Roberts and wife Mammie of Teague, Texas and her great nieces and nephews. Her brother-in- law T.M. Burleson and wife Francis of Fairfield, Texas, her sister-in-law Margie Burleson of Baytown, Texas, her special caregivers Mary Moore, Zulene Kempt, Carolyn Elmore, JoAnn Chapman and Bernita Pace, and her special friend Sandy Caruso also survive Mrs. Burleson. Mrs. Burleson's family received friends on Thursday, January 18, 2007, with a service held at noon at Earthman Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Hayes officiating. Interment was held on Friday at Lost Prairie Cemetery in Groesbeck, Texas. Arrangements were under the direction of Earthman Funeral Directors of Baytown.
