Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Caleb Ray Burts Caleb Ray Burts, 11, of Fairfield, passed away at his home on Sunday, January 19, 2014. Visitation was at Capps Memorial Chapel on Wednesday, January 22, 2014. Funeral services were held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 23, 2014 at First Baptist Church with Bro. Don Suits, II, pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church officiating; assisted by Bro. Carl Clark, pastor of Corinth Baptist Church in Dew. Interment followed at Dew Cemetery. Caleb was born February 17, 2002 in Houston to parents Francis and Linda Payne Burts. He had been a resident of Freestone County for nine years having moved from West Columbia. Before beginning home schooling Caleb had been a student in the Dew I.S.D. Caleb was a very active member of Emmanuel Baptist Church where he served proudly as an usher. Some his many favorite activities included aggravating his brother, hunting, video games, Legos, anything military, riding dirt bikes and ATV’s. Caleb was very tender hearted and loved his family and friends. Caleb was preceded in death by grandparents, Annabelle Crowder; R.C. Goodridge; Roy Payne; Mary Ruth Belcher; Milton Ray Burts; one aunt, Katherine Hayles; one uncle, Benny Dean Burts. Pallbearers were Roy Payne, Ryan Payne, Ryan Nordt, Dewayne Powell, Cole Dishongh and Cy Payne. Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Linda and Francis Burts of Fairfield; two brothers, Wyatt and Corey; three sisters, Emalie; Kayte and Noah; grandparents, Darlene and Curtis Payne of Alvin, TX; great-grandmother, Edith Flora of Alvin; aunts, uncles and cousins, Roy and Jennifer Payne and son Cy of West Columbia; Denise and Dewayne Powell and children Kayla, Cole and Kara of West Columbia; Julie and Ryan Nordt of Fulshear and daughters Rachel and Halle; Ryan and Amy Payne of Magnolia, TX and children Addison and Dylan; Johnny and Deloris Burts.
