The Teague Chronicle - March 14, 1919 edition Aged Negro dies Rabe Busby aged 104 years died at his home west of town last Friday. As far as is known Rabe was the oldest Negro in the county. By industry and honesty he ad acquired a home of his own and many conveniences around him. He is one of the faithful ex-slaves who never forgot his white friends and one of his last requests was that Judge H. B. Daviss of Corsicana be notified of his death. Rafe (sic) was once a slave of Judge Daviss mother. Knowing the good qualities of his old servant and appreciating the request made, Judge Daviss came to Teague Sat. to attend the funeral.
