Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Bessie Marie Williams Busby Funeral services were held for Bessie Marie Williams Busby, “Lil Bessie”, 54, who died June 10[, 2010]. Rev. Tyrell Hobbs officiated with eulogist Rev. Jerome B. Hobbs at First United Methodist Church in Mexia. Visitation was at Pearly Gates Funeral Home in Mexia. Mrs. Busby was born Jan. 2, 1956 to Ezekiel and Bessie Mae Williams in Mexia. Her parents, seven brothers, one sister, and husband Larry Busby, Sr., preceded her in death. Mrs. Busby attended Douglas elementary and Teague high school and graduated from Navarro College in 1978 with a degree in occupational therapy. She worked for the Texas Youth Commission as medication aide, and was a member of Little Zion Baptist Church in Mexia. She is survived by children Corey Demarcus (Toni) Williams of Mexia, Freda E. (Bo) Brown of San Antonio, Larisa LaToyia (Brandon) Chambers of Waco, Larry Edward Jr. (Angela) Busby of Teague, and Wakanda Esther (Charles) Murkelodove of Mexia; Grandchildren Quentin (Buster) Wylie, Sherrell and Danielle Carter, Tydrick Busby, Alicia Carr, Iron and Tyree Brown, Kantavia and Deyajenia Cooper, Kamiah and JaCorey Williams, Ariel Morrow, Ahkia Chambers, Mylasia Smith, very special nephew Zachary Hutchison, very special friend McKinney Murkledove; Sisters Doris Strain of Hillsboro, Erma Faye Burns of Waco and Lee Ellen Hobbs of Mexia, special friend Hattie Gamble, best friends Von Washington, Terry Williams, Ray Bostic, special nieces Diane Prather Hobbs, Sherry Hobbs, sister- in-law Bridget Busby and a host of other relatives and friends.
