Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Mrs. Leola “Diana” (Eggins) Busby Mrs. Leola “Diana” Eggins Busby passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at her residence in Wortham among loving family and devoted friends. Viewing was held Friday, February 20, at Moore’s Funeral Home Chapel and a Vigil Service was held later Friday at Smith Chapel Primitive Baptist Church in Wortham with the family present. Funeral Services were held Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 2:00 PM in the First Baptist Church of Wortham with Bishop Jermany Jamal Henry, Officiating and Rev. Vernon Busby, Eulogist. Interment followed at the Wortham Cemetery. “Diana” was the second of nine children born to David and Hazel Eggins in Navarro County. She attended the public schools in Richland, Texas and worked at The Wortham Medical Clinic, and the 66 Diner Restaurant in Corsicana. She married David. V. Busby in Navarro County. Mrs. Busby was baptized in the Happy Land Baptist Church by Rev. L. L. Sheffield, was a member of the Smith Chapel P. B. Church, and was a member of The Full Faith P. B. Church under the leadership of her son, Rev. Vernon Busby. She was devoted to her family and loved helping others. Mrs. Busby was preceded in death by : Her parents: Dave and Hazel Eggins; Her husband: David V. Busby; Her daughter: Katherine Joyce Busby Watkins; Five brothers; One sister: 1 Granddaughter; and 1 Grandson, 2 Great-Great-Grandaughters and 11 Great-Grandson. Those left to cherish her memory are: Her sons: Arthur and Brenda Busby, Mexia, TX; Vernon and Gloria Busby, Wortham, TX; Kenneth and Ivory Busby, Wortham, TX; Michael and Rebecca Busby, Wortham, TX; Daughters: Joan Young, Dallas, TX; Malinda Morgan, Mexia, TX; Zoleta and Cliffton Kirven, Mexia, TX; Shirley Freeman, Wortham, TX; Marie and Lynn Bledsoe, Waco, TX; Patricia Evans, Wortham, TX; Elaine and Gene Rhodes, Wortham, TX; Sandra and Altus Carter, Jr., Mexia, TX; Mary Nell and Ken Piggee, Mexia, TX; Sisters: Willie Mae Giddings, Mexia, TX; and Glodean Hunt and J. T., Odessa, TX; Son-In-Law: Clark Watkins, Mexia, TX; Sisters-In-Law: Ida Eggins and Joyce Fay Eggins, both of Mexia, TX; 73 Grandchildren; 98 Great-Grandchildren; 22 Great-Great-Grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
