Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Fairfield Recorder newspaper December 18, 2008 Vergie Solley Caffey Funeral service were last weekend for Vergie Solley Caffey, 80, of Cotton Gin who died Thursday, Dec. 11, in her residence. Mrs. Caffey worked for several years at the Pangburn Candy Company in Fort Worth. She also worked as a nurse's aid in both Teague General Hospital and Harris Hospital in Fort Worth. Mrs. Caffey's hobbies included fishing and birdwatching and she was a member of South Park Baptist Church in Fort Worth. Services were held at 3 p.m. on Saturday at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague with Gaylon Henry officiating. Interment followed at Union Cemetery near Freestone. Mrs. Caffey is survived by her sons, Earl Solley and wife Doris of Cotton Gin, Roger Dale Solley and wife Joyce of Fairfield, and Larry Wayne Solley and wife Sharon of Bremond; daughter, Linda Solley of Cotton Gin; 15 grandchildren; 32 greatgrandchildren; and sister, Joyce Modine Carder and husband James of Fort Worth. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Joyce Solley; husbands, Ludy Earl Solley and C. O. Caffey; seven siblings and her parents. Arrangements were made by Bowers Funeral Home of Teague.
