Alvis W. Calame


Alvis W. Calame, 92, of Corsicana passed away Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2004, in
Corsicana.

Visitation was from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday September 24, 2004 at Corley Funeral 
Home.

Graveside services were 11 a.m. Saturday at Wortham Cemetery with Dr. David 
Hale officiating.

Mr. Calame was born Oct. 12, 1911, in Wortham to Will and Florence Calame. He 
graduated from Wortham High School and attended Westminster College in 
Tehuacana. He was married to Ruth Watson on March 16, 1935, and they made their
home in Dallas until 1977, moving to Corsicana upon retirement. He was a member
of Northside Baptist Church and the Business Men's Bible Study Class. He served
3 1/2 years in the Army, 14th Armored Division in Europe during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Louise Calame; brother, Ralph Calame;
and sister, Gladys Calame.

Survivors include numerous cousins and friends.
