(Submitted by Mike Pruitt on 16 May 2006) Mexia Daily News Obituary notice dated Dec. 5, 1983: [Death date: Dec 02, 1983] Mrs. Cleona (Black) Campbell Teague-Funeral services for Mrs. Cleona (Black) Campbell, 70, were held Sunday at 2 in Lawrence-Ricks Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Henry Davenport officiated, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. Mrs. Campbell, a resident of Teague, died Friday in Teague General Hospital. She was born Sept. 30, 1913, in Tehuacana. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Eastern Star. Survivors include her husband, Steve Campbell of Teague; a daughter, Betty Ruth Edwards of Teague; three brothers, Lee Black, Dee Black and Elijah Black, all of Mexia. Also three sisters, Susie McDonald of Shiloh, Mae Kelly of Teague and Irene Ellis of Sweeney; two grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Rex Goolsby, Sam Cox, Anthony Ellisor, Wade Bottoms, Bill Brooks and B.L. Seely. Lawrence-Ricks Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
