Canady, aged about 62, died at 5:30 Sunday afternoon at the family residence in the Providence community, three miles east of Freestone, of typhoid fever. He had been ill for two or three weeks, it is understood, but had been confined to his bed for less than a week, having been in Teague for business on Monday of the previous week. Funeral services conducted by T.F. Suttle were held at Union Cemetery where interment was made about 4:00 oclock Monday afternoon. Mr. Canady was one of the leading farmers of his community and will be greatly missed by its citizenship. The Chronicle joins the many friends in sympathy for bereft relatives. Mrs. Canady was suffering an attack of typhoid at the time of her husbands death, but is reported better. Several children survive.
