John R. Carmichael

John R. Carmichael, age 89, passed from this life on Saturday, August 14, 2010 
in Denver City.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 16, 2010 at St. Elmo 
Cemetery in Winkler, Texas. Personal services are under the direction of Mark A 
Jones Funeral Directors of Seagraves.

Mr. Carmichael was born on June 10, 1921 in Waco, Texas. John entered the Army 
Aircorp in WWII, serving as a Flight Engineer in the China Burma Campaign. He 
continued on to Baylor University, where he received a Bachelors degree in business 
in 1949. On December 5, 1945 he married the love of his life, Mozelle Lewis in 
Valley Mills, Texas. She preceded him in death on May 19, 2007.

Those left to cherish his memories are 2 sons, John R. Carmichael, Jr. and Tim 
Carmichael and wife Melba, all of Seagraves; 1 daughter, Suzanne Ortiz and husband 
Roberto of Austin, Texas; and 1 sister, Ruth Gunter of Scottsdale, Arizona. He 
also leaves behind 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
