Gladys (Garrison) Carr

Graveside services were held Tuesday for Gladys Carr, 92, who died Friday, June 
12, at Fairview Manor Nursing Home in Fairfield.

Mrs. Carr was born in Chester, Illinois to Minnie Alice and Troy Cecil Garrison.

A former resident of St. Louis, Missouri, Mrs. Carr was a member of 3rd Baptist 
Church, a member of Eastern Star, Lambskin Lodge, and a member of the VFW Ladies 
Auxiliary there for many years.

She moved to Wortham in 2005 and lived there until moving to a nursing home in 
Fairfield.

Services were held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 16, at Evergreen Cemetery in Ava, 
Illinois.

Mrs. Carr is survived by her children, Beverly Beil and husband Charles of 
Wortham, Robert Carr, Jr. and wife Sonia of Highlands Ranch Colorado, and Thomas 
Carr of Hot Springs, Arkansas; eight grandchildren, Kathy Lloyd and husband Greg 
Kountze of Pearland, Cheryl Harvick and husband Robert of Pearland, Susan Miller 
and husband Charles of Pearland, David Beil and wife Helen of Mexia, Marsha Beil 
and G.L. Thomas of Mildred, Leilani Scheet and husband Jon of Illinois, Lori 
Wittler and husband Ron of Houston, and Christopher Damasceno of Highlands 
Ranch, Colorado; 11 greatgrandchildren; and seven great-great, grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Carr, Sr.

Funeral arrangements were made under the direction of Bowers Funeral Home in 
Teague.
