Freestone County, Texas Obituaries The Fairfield Recorder - February 10, 2011 CHARLOTTE (LITTLE SISTER) MIMS CARR Funeral services were held Saturday at Moore’s Angelic Funeral Chapel for Charlotte (Little Sister) Mims Carr, 79, of Teague who died Jan. 30 at Parkview Regional Hospital of Mexia amongst family and friends. Interment followed at Grove Island Cemetery of Teague. Mrs. Carr was born Aug. 31, 1931 as the sixth child of Huey Mims and Bessie Jefferson in the Furney Richardson community of Teague. She attended public schools there and was baptized at the St. John AME Church of Mexia. Mrs. Carr married Fred Carr, Sr. and was a housewife who enjoyed shopping, cooking and family get-togethers. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Mrs. Carr was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, three sisters, and one brother. She is survived by sons Fred Carr, Jr. and wife Jackie, Lonnie Carr, and Scotty Carr, all of Mexia; daughters Deborah C. Reed of Mexia, Sherrin A. Jackson and husband Raybon of Mexia, Evett Carr of MD; daughters-inlaw LaDonna Carr of Dallas and Irene Carr of Houston; brother A.J. Mims of Houston; 11 grandchildren; 10 greatgrandchildren; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends. Officiating services was the Rev. Cleo High. Making arrangements was Moore’s Angelic Funeral Home of Teague.
