Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Fairfield Recorder newspaper - Feb 16, 2006 edition Ina Knotts Carroll Mrs. Ina Akie Knotts Carroll died at the age of 90 on February 9 at Parkview Regional Hospital, Mexia. She was a resident of Streetman. Services were held Sunday at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sandra E. Hippman of Lakeside Methodist Church officiating; interment followed at Cade Cemetery. Mrs. Carroll was born February 16, 1915 in Richland to Kenny Knotts and Bertha Lee Davis Knotts. She attended school in Richland and married Hillary Dean Carroll. Mrs. Carroll was a U. S. Postal worker and retired from the post office in Streetman. She was also a rancher who operated a cattle ranch herself. Her hobbies included art and gardening and she was an active member of the Garden Club of Corsicana. Mrs. Carroll took art lessons and some of her paintings were of plants and herbs. She also traveled to various countries around the world. Mrs. Carroll was preceded in death by her parents Kenny Knotts and Bertha David Knotts; her husband Hillary Dean Carroll; brother Homer V. Knotts and son Bobby Dean Carroll. Mrs. Carroll is survived by her nephew John Knotts and his wife Patsy of Streetman; great nephews Bryan and wife Katherine and Alvin Knotts of Streetman and Copperas Cove and sister-in-law Louise Knotts of Gatesville. Also she is survived by her nephews and nieces C. A. Carroll of Streetman, Mary Hood of Waco, Amanda Carroll of Fairfield, Sherrie Minze and Donald Carroll of Streetman, DeAnn Vandiver, T. E. and June Smith of Streetman and Wiencie Holasek of West. She was born at Richland on Feb. 16, 1915. Funral services for Mrs. Carroll will be Sunday afternoon, Feb. 12, 2006, at 3 o’clock in Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home Chapel, Corsicana. Officiating will be the Rev. Sandra E. Hippman of Lakeside Methodist Church. Burial will be in Cade Cemetery. Refreshments will follow at the residence of Ina K. Carroll. Visitation is scheduled for Saturday evening from 6:30 until 8 o’clock at the funeral home. She was preceded in death by her father, Kenny Knotts; her mother, Betha Davis Knotts Jackson; her husband, Hillary Dean Carroll; a brother, Homer V. Knotts, and by a son, Bobby Dean Carroll. Mrs. Carroll, born to Kenny Knotts and Bertha Lee Davis Knotts, attended school in Richland, and was married to Hillary Dean Carroll.
