James Robert Shelby Carroll

James Robert Shelby Carroll, "Shelby", passed away July 30, 2014 in Wortham. 
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 2, at 10 a.m. at Porter Chapel in 
Wortham, with Rev. John Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Wortham 
Cemetery. Family visitation will be held Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at 
Porter Chapel.

Shelby was born April 21, 1981 in Corsicana, to James Carroll and Stacy Keeling 
Johnson. He was in Wortham all of his life.

He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Marilyn Keeling and Ruth Carroll.

Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Stacy and Nolan Johnson, of Wortham; 
father and stepmother, James and Kathy Carroll of Dew; son, Jordan Carroll, of 
Mexia; sister, Jami Brown, of Wortham; grandfather, Arnold Keeling, of Wortham; 
nephews, Alex and Luke Brown, of Wortham; niece, Hannah Brown, of Wortham; as 
well as numerous aunts and uncles.

Serving as pallbearers will be Sam Wright, Thomas Echartea, Justin Bain, Haskel 
Colliar, Michael Betts, Brandon Walton, Shon Brown, Clint Bennett, Arthur “Chunky” 
Busby Jr. and Andrew “Andy” Burney.
