Originally published in The Shreveport Times, July 11, 2004 "Reather Herbert Carruth SHREVEPORT, LA - Services for Reather Herbert Carruth, 93, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Sunday, July 11, 2004 at Rose-Neath's Marshall Street Chapel. Officiating will be Reverend William Blakely. Graveside services will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Dew Cemetery, Dew, Texas. Mrs. Carruth was born January 25, 1911 in Teague, Texas to the parents of Andrew and Roberta Craig. She passed away Friday, July 9, 2004 in Shreveport after a short illness. Mrs. Carruth was a member of Mangum Memorial United Methodist Church and a professional beautician who owned and operated her own shop for over fifty years. She also established her own beauty school and later started her own dress shop. Mrs. Carruth took much pride in her profession and her neatness as well. Her parents, four sisters and her first husband, Stanley Herbert, preceded Mrs. Carruth in death. Survivors include her husband, Tom Carruth of Shreveport, her sister-in-law, Louise Craig of Waco, Texas as well as several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Carruth was a very loving wife, christian and friend to all that knew her. She will be greatly missed by her family and the many lives she touched."
