Burial will follow at Grove Island Cemetery under the direction of Emanuel Funeral Home of Teague. Mrs. Carter died Tuesday at her residence. =================================================================== The Teague Chronicle - Feb 1, 2007: JACQUELYN EVA CARTER Jacquelyn Eva Carter was born on April 10, 1947, in Freestone County to Verda Bell Carter and Julius Means. Jackie went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 16, 2007. Jackie grew up in the Grove Island Community and graduated from Booker T. Washington in May of 1965. She attended church at Grove Island A.M.E. Church. Jackie enjoyed cooking, eating, and scratching lottery tickets. She also enjoyed spoiling her grandson, nieces and nephews. Her hobbies were cooking Sunday dinner and inviting everyone to come and eat. Preceding her in death were her parents, grandparents, brother, sisters, and her sons Wayne Lee Busby, Christine Carter, Vivian Marie Carter, Kelton Carter and Drexell Joaquin Carter. Those she leaves to cherish her memories are her son Sabastian Darrell (Brandi) Carter of Teague, her grandchildren Sabastian Darrell Carter, Jr. of Teague, Alanna Garcia of Teague, her brother Joe Roy (Dorothy) Busby of Dallas, her sister-in-law Faye Busby of Dallas, her aunt Bertlene Carter of Dallas, her nieces Jewel (Bobby) Wallace of Arlington, Shirella (Will) Carter of Mexia, Joyce Thomas of Dallas, her nephew Horace (Dorothy) Carter of Mexia. Her special friends Ida Mae Henderson, Tami Small, Zettie Ruth Brewer, Joyce Pope, Barbara Heggins, Beulah Henderson, Robert D. Henderson, Jean Kirven, Gladys Pelton, her very devoted caretaker Doris Small of Teague and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral services for Jackie Carter were held on Saturday, January 20, 2007, at Grove Island A.M.E. Church in Teague, Texas. Rev. Stanley Johnson officiated as Pastor and Eulogist. Interment was at Grove Island Cemetery in Teague. Pallbearers for Ms. Carter were Anthony Forge, Ricky Willis, Edwardo Morgan, Billy Dunn, Melvin Mims, Derrick Forge, Edwardo Villa, Cornelius Mims and Trevier Brackens. Honorary pallbearers were Rufus Jackson, McKenzie Jackson and Charlie Baker. Emanuel Funeral Home of Teague was in charge of the arrangements.
