Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Groesbeck Journal - December 4, 2008 issue Bishop Arthur Lee (Bud) Carter, Jr. Funeral Services Held Sept. 9 for Bishop Carter Bishop Arthur Lee (Bud) Carter, Jr. went to sleep in The Lord on Tuesday, September 2, 2008 at Parkview Regional Hospital, Mexia after he had preached on the second night of the Revival at Grove Island AME Church in Teague. He was the Overseer of The Unlimited Praise Ministry in Mexia. He was born in December 1964. He graduated from Mexia High School with the Class of 1983 where he was known as "Captain Thunder" of the Mexia Black Cat Football Team. On March 11, 1995 he was united in marriage to Shronda Green in Mexia. He was employed at the Power Plant in Jewett. The Bishop was a member of The St. James United Methodist Church in Teague when he was called by God into the ministry in 1999 while Rev. Roger Hunter was pastor. He followed his vision of Unlimited Praise Ministry which was given birth on August 3, 2005 at 115 E. Commerce Street in Mexia. Funeral Services were held Tuesday, September 9, in the Sanctuary of The First United Methodist Church, 203 N. Canton Street, Mexia. Rev. Cedric Porter and Rev. Kennen Jackson officiated. Interment was in the Grove Island Cemetery in Teague. Leaving to cherish his loving memory are: His wife: Shronda Carter, Mexia; His children: Natassia Gray, Dallas; Amber Bryant and husband, Tometheus; Ebony Carter, Arthur Lee (Trey) Carter III; Tyree Green Carter and Chasity Carter all of Mexia; and Jalisia Carter , Dallas; his Grandchildren: Tometheus Bryant, Jr., and Montreail Carter; his parents: Arthur Lee, Sr. and Annie Pearl Carter, Mexia; brothers: Bobby Burrell and wife, Sybil, Teague; and Arzo Carter and wife, Sherry, Groesbeck; Sisters: Evelyn Allen and husband, Roy Lee, Layton, Utah; Patricia Chambers and husband, Levi, Omaha, Nebraska; Cynthia (Tina) Jones, Mexia; Wanda Anderson and husband, Samuel, Fairfield; Natalie Carter, Mexia; Yulane Matthews and husband, Joe Bill, Killeen; Michelle Huckaby; Debra Porter and husband Cedric and Ethel Denise Carter all of Mexia; his Father-In-Law and Mother-In-Law: Bobby and James Marie Green, Mexia; his special sister-in-law and best friend: Tina Green, Mexia; a number of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Pallbearers were: Steven King, Ed Jackson, Jerry Brooks, Kenneth Mathis; Darrell Jackson; Claude Jackson; Reginal Hall; Kevin Dixon, Kevin Ross and Kent Kendall.
