Funeral Services Sunday Afternoon For Clifton Carter 

Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the Grove Island 
A.M.E. Church for Clifton Carter, 62, who died at his home on Rt. 3, Mexia, 
Tuesday. Rev. Leonard Harris, pastor of the Grove Island church, will officiate, 
and burial will be in the Grove Island cemetery with the Dorsey-Keatts Funeral 
Home in charge of arrangements. Carter was born in Mexia on Jan. 7, 1894, and 
lived in this area all of his life. He was a farmer and a member of the 
Methodist church.
