Freestone County, Texas Obituaries [Source - Mr. "Sonny" Sessions] Fairfield Recorder - May 1, 1891 issue "In Memoriam Died at Bonner, Texas on Sabbath morning, April 12, 1891, Miss Fannie Carter, aged 21 years. The deceased was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Carter. She was a native of Allentown, Alabama, but had for a number of years previous to her death resided in this state. She learned patience and endurance by continuing suffering and pain for she was an invalid the greater part of her life. Her last sickness was brief but severe. Kind friends and faithful physicians did all that watchful attention and tender care could do for her; but an ever faithful and all wise God saw best to take her from the sorrows of this life. She leaves many friends and relatives to mourn her departure, but they sorrow not without hope; for she found the "physician of souls" heals all our sickness and delivers the soul from all sins and during her last sickness she connected herself with the Methodist Church. Now there is one more bond to draw the loved ones to a life beyond the grave and to things above. Sabbath afternoon all that was mortal of our loved one was laid away in the Woodland Churchyard, the Rev. Geo. Greene officiating. "No chastening for the present seems to be joyous, but grievous nonetheless, afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby." Cousin
