Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Teague Chronicle December 20, 2007 edition NEVERA CARTER Ms. Nevera Carter passed away on Monday, December 10, 2007 in Tyler, Texas. She was 71 years old. Ms. Carter was born on November 27, 1936, in Freestone County, Texas, to Simuel and DeEtta Soloman Carter, Sr. She was a life long member of the Fairfield Missionary Baptist Church. Nevera attended and received her education at Dogan High School in Fairfield, Texas. Funeral services for Ms. Carter were held on Sunday, December 16, 2007, at Fairfield Missionary Baptist Church in Fairfield, Texas. Pastor A.L. Thibodeaux officiated and interment was at Brown Chapel Cemetery in Oakwood, Texas. She is survived by her son Edward Lee Carter and wife Rochelle of Fairfield, her daughters Esther Arline Baker of Dallas and Shelley Carter of Palestine, her brothers Fredrick Carter and Simuel Carter, Jr. and wife Johnnie Mae of Fairfield, her sisters Mildred Boyd and husband Homer of Chicago, Zella R. Carter of Fairfield, Juanita Carter of Fairfield, six grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ms. Carter was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings Hollis Carter and Fredonia Echols. Pallbearers for Ms. Carter were Reginald Carter, Jimmy L. Carter, Anthony E. Carter, Ronald D. Carter, Mitchell T. Carter and Cecil J. Carter. Honorary pallbearers were the members of Dogan Alumni. Emanuel Funeral Home of Teague was in charge of the arrangements.
