Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Fairfield Recorder newspaper May 14, 2009 Opal F. (Stiles) Casey Funeral services were held Monday for Opal F. Casey, 78, of El Campo who died Thursday, May 7, in Sugar Land. Mrs. Casey was born in Brady on April 25, 1931. She married Edward Casey on Aug. 26, 1977. For over 40 years, Mrs. Casey worked as a licensed vocational nurse at various hospitals and nursing homes including Teague Nursing Home and Fairfield's Fairview Manor. She was a member of Round Prairie Baptist Church before moving to El Campo where she joined Memorial Baptist Church. Mrs. Casey was an active member who taught Sunday school and participated in the ladies ministry. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 11, at Bowers Funeral Home in Teague. Interment followed at Driver Cemetery with Ed Ridge officiating. Mrs. Casey is survived by her husband of 32 years, Edward Casey of El Campo; stepsons, David Casey and wife Sandy of Richwood and James Casey and wife Mary of Cedar Creek; stepdaughters, Kathy Orsak of Edna and Rita Gann and husband Glenn of El Campo; 12 grandchildren; 22 greatgrandchildren; "daughter in love", Roberta Klimple of El Campo; mother-inlaw, Willie Earl Casey of Teague; brothers, Vernon Stiles of Alaska and Richard Stiles and wife Jeanette of Rochelle; and sister, Lola Jurkavich of Wallace, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Earl and Lola Carter Stiles; brother, James Stiles; and sister, Bernice House. Funeral arrangements were made under the direction of Bowers Funeral Home in Teague.
