Freestone County, Texas Obituaries EDWARD H. (PEE-WEE) CASEY 2011-06-23 / Obituaries Funeral services were held Saturday at Bowers Funeral Home of Teague for Edward H. (Pee-Wee) Casey, 83, formerly of Freestone county who died June 15 at Garden Villa Nursing Home of El Campo. Interment followed at Driver Cemetery of Freestone county with Masonic Graveside Rites. Mr. Casey was born March 8, 1928 in Mexia to Walter Howard and Willie Earl Casey and he grew up in the Clay Hill community near Teague. Mr. Casey began his career in the oil field at the age of sixteen and remained until his diabetes forced him to retire in 1974. In 1947, he married Luella Bodungen and shared 24 years with her until her death in 1971. Mr. Casey married Opal Stiles in 1977 and they shared 31 years together before her death in 2009. Most of his life was spent in El Campo, which he considered his home. Mr. Casey was an ordained deacon and a member of Memorial Baptist Church of El Campo for more than 50 years and was also active at Round Prairie Baptist Church of Fairfield when he and Opal briefly resided in Freestone county before returning to El Campo. He was a member of El Campo Masonic Lodge No. 918 for more than 50 years. Mr. Casey was preceded in death by his parents, both wives and sisters Sue Jones and Sally Morton. He is survived by sons David Howard Casey and wife Sandy of Richwood and James Edward Casey and wife Mary Nell of Bastrop; daughters Kathy Orsak of Edna and Rita Gann and husband Glenn of El Campo; grandchildren Shanelle Henson and husband Buck, Jade Casey and wife Amber, Destiny Boatman, Lisa Harlien and husband Chris, Chrystal Suarez and husband Gabriel, Ranee Kisamore and husband James, Justin Casey and wife Summer, Ashley DeShay and husband Murrey, Brenda Smith and husband David, Leslie Alexander and husband Bob, Jason Adams and wife Sally, Jody Stavena and husband Tommy, and Travis Gann and wife Jennyfer; 27 greatgrandchildren; sister Johnnie Walker of Teague; brother-in-law Carl Jones of Belton; sister-in-law Darlene Long and husband Marvin of Manvel; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Officiating services was The Reverend Ed Ridge. Making arrangements was Bowers Funeral Home of Teague.
