Harriet Melviney Castile

Funeral services were held this week for Harriet Melviney Castile, 100, of 
Wortham who died Friday, Jan. 18 at Parkview Regional Hospital in Mexia.

Mrs. Castile was born in Bremond on Oct. 30, 1907.

Services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 22 at Antioch Baptist Church in 
Mexia with Rev. Cleo High and Tas Betts officiating.

Internment followed at the Wortham Cemetery.

Mrs. Castile is survived by grandchildren Marcia A. Weathers and husband Elmer
(Bubba) of Mexia, Claraness Washington and husband Thelbert of Hewitt, Joyce
Bradford and husband Roy of Corsicana, Derrick Anthony Castile of Corsicana and
Danny Michael Castile and wife Zoleta of Mexia; 19 great grandchildren; and 24
great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband Doc Mato Castile.

  Harriet Melviney Castile, 100, passed away Friday, Jan. 18, 2008, at Parkview 
Regional Hospital, Mexia, Texas. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 
22, at Antioch Baptist Church, 610 N. Denton, Mexia. The Rev. Cleo High and Elder 
Tas Betts will officiate. Interment will be at the Blind Lemon Memorial Cemetery 
in Wortham, Texas.
  Harriet was born in Bremond, Texas, and married to the late Doc Mato Castile.
  Survivors are her grandchildren, Marcia A. Weathers and husband, Elmer "Bubba", 
of Mexia, Claraness Washington and husband, Thelbert, of Hewitt, Joyce Bradford 
and husband, Roy, of Corsicana, Derrick Anthony Castile, of Corsicana, and Danny 
Michael Castile and wife, Zoleta, of Mexia; 19 great-grandchildren; 24 great-
great-grandchildren; and many other family members and friends.
