B. Baxter, a local bakery employe[e], was injured Tuesday near Elk when a bakery truck overturned in a ditch following the breaking of a front wheel spindle bolt. Chadwell was a former football player at Wortham High School. Baxter is in a local hospital with painful bruises. His condition is not considered serious. ====================================================== Corsicana Daily Sun, October 5, 1932; Page 1 Wortham Youth Killed In Auto Crash Tuesday WORTHAM, Oct. 1 - [Sp] - Lynn Chadwell, 21, Wortham high school graduate and football player, was almost instantly killed and his companion, D. B. Baxter of Waco, was injured when they lost control of the car they were driving and it went into a ditch near Elk, on the Palestine-Waco highway on Tuesday afternoon. Baxter is said to be in a Waco hospital. Funeral services were planned to be held from the First Baptist, Wortham, at 4 o'clock this afternoon, with Rev. George Jerrens officiating and burial following in the Wortham Cemetery. The dead youth is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Chadwell, and three brothers, Rex, Standley, and Max, all of Wortham. Chadwell was said to be working for a Waco concer, and was riding in that city on a truck with Baxter when the accident occurred. Details of the accident were not learned.
