The Bryan - College Station Eagle August 16, 2004 Barbara Mae (Collins) Charanza May 24, 1928 — Aug. 14, 2004 SOMERVILLE — Services for Barbara Mae (Collins) Charanza, 76, of Somerville are set for 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Lyons. Brother Gary Samford will officiate. Burial will follow in Holy Rosary Cemetery at Frenstat. Relatives and friends may visit Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell after 11 a.m. Monday. The family will be present from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday. Mrs. Charanza died at her home Saturday night. She was born in Teague. She was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church in Lyons. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, playing dominoes and spending time with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Joe Charanza; her parents, Lawrence and Minnie (French) Collins; her son, Johnny Charanza; and three brothers, George, Johnny and Ernest Collins. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Sylvester “Slick” and Linda Marie Charanza of the Birch community; two daughters and a son-in-law, Barbara Ann Charanza of Somerville and Cookie and Eddie Stiffelmire of Caldwell; three brothers, Howard Collins of Houston, Richard Collins of New Caney and Sharon Collins of Dallas; one sister, Mary Jo Collins of Hilltop Lakes; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
