Waxahachie Daily Light newspaper - September 12, 1943 edition: [Note - Dr. Lawrence Edward Clark was born 7 Oct 1875 at Cotton Gin, Freestone County, Texas.] "Dr. L. E. Clark, prominent Ennis physician, passed away at his home Friday after suffering a heart attack Thursday during the night. He and his wife had just returned late Wednesday afternoon from Fayetteville, Arkansas where they had spend most of the summer at their cottage there. When the attack came, he called his children to his bedside and his son, Dr. J. L. Clark attended him. Dr. Clark was born in 1875 and came to Ennis about 37 or 38 years ago. He is one of Ennis' outstanding citizens and was loved by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Dr. J. L. Clark and Fred H. Clark, both of Ennis; four brothers, W. F. Clark, Dr. J. P. Clark, Dr. C. P. Clark, Ennis, and Wade Clark of Fort Worth. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 4 p.m. at the family residence."
