Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Fairfield Recorder - Friday, January 29, 1926 On Monday, Jan. 4, 1926 near the hour of midnight, the death angel came and claimed as its own the only child, little Orbie Dean, of Mr. & Mrs. Dean Cockrell. For seven weeks we've watched and prayed that this little one might be saved to those most devoted young parents. The scene that this sweet baby was given us to teach all a lesson of love. It left everyone and everyone loved little Dean, as he was called. With his sunny smiling disposition, he was the light and the joy of this happy little home. He was twenty months of age. Just why god, in his wisdom and mercy took it so early in life is hard for us to understand. Though we know he had a purpose and needed one more little blue eyed baby. We can not understand now but we will sometime, someday know. Dear ones you have a great consolation that you did your whole duty. All that loving hearts and tender hands could do was done for his comfort but god called and it was only a visit here and could not stay. Yes a vacant place in your home but bless thought it has gone where there is no vacant place, neither pain, sickness, sorrow, or death, just one bright eternal day. Dear ones it can not again come to you, but by the grace of god, you can go to it. It was laid to rest in Lake Chapel Cemetery the following day at 4:00. The floral offerings and many sorrowing loved ones and friends. Bro. H. L. McKissick officiating. May the lord comfort as he alone can in this dark hour, we can only say, "Go to Jesus with it all."
