Fairfield Recorder - March 18, 1892 issue

Died - Mrs. Cockrell, wife of Mr. G.C. Cockrell, of our town died last Monday 
morning of pneumonia after an illness of a week. The family moved to Fairfield
last fall from the Young neighborhood, where they had lived many years and were
well known. The deceased was an excellent lady and industrious woman, a good 
wife and a kind loving mother. Besides a grief stricken husband, she leaves to
mourn her great loss, three small children, several sisters and brothers. The
deceased was formerly a Miss Powell and was a sister of Mrs. John H. Mayo of 
Ward Prairie and Mr. A.L. Powell near Young. Her remains were buried last 
Tuesday in the Rehoboth Cemetery about 10 miles east of Fairfield. The bereaved
family have the deep sympathy of our entire community.
