Streetman Bank Head Dies After Operation

CORSICANA, Texas. Sept. 21. - J. B. Cole, 74, president of the First National 
Bank and prominent merchant at Streetman, died in the Navarro Clinic Sunday. 
He underwent an operation several weeks ago.

A native of Mississippi, Mr. Cole came to Texas many years ago and after 
residing at Greenville for some time, came to Navarro County, where he lived
until he moved to Streetman twenty-one years ago. He had long been identified 
with the leaders in civic, financial and other circles in this section.

Surviving are his wife; four sons, R. C. Cole, Streetman; H. B. Cole, 
Streetman; J. A. Cole, Tyler, and S. M. Cole, Lubbock; four daughters, Mrs. J.
K. Webb, Streetman; Mrs. E. R. Crotty, Tyler; Mrs. O. A. McCrary, Beaumont, 
and Mrs. H. B. Stubbs, Streetman; a number of grandchildren and two half-
brothers, W. L. Phillips, Mexia, and Ed Phillips, Ruston, La.

Funeral services will be held at Streetman Tuesday at 3 o'clock, with interment
in the Birdston Cemetery.
