Mexia Daily News - Aug. 12, 2003 edition Jim Coleman FAIRFIELD - Funeral services for Jim Wallace Coleman, 80, of Fairfield, will be held Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock in First United Methodist Church. Officiating will be the pastor, the Rev. Wayne Flowers, and David Filis. Burial will be in Fairfield Cemetery. Mr. Coleman, who died Sunday in Waco, was born Nov. 15, 1922, in Kirvin, to the late Luther Clifford and Sarah Elizabeth Carter Coleman. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a Motor Machinist Mate First class. The Colemans lived in Fairfield from 1946 to 1952, and again from 1982 until the present. They also resided in the Dallas area for a brief time. Jim retired from Fairfield Ford, where he was a Ford Auto Parts Specialist. A member of First United Methodist Church, Mr. Coleman also held memberships in the VFW Post 5782 and the Freestone County Game Association, and also was an honorary member of the Texas Medical Assistants Society. He was a member and former officer of the Ford Parts & Service Managers Association in Dallas. The family will receive friends this evening from 6 until 8 o'clock at Capps Memorial Chapel. Mr. Coleman was preceded in death by his parents; an uncle, David Carter, and by three brothers - Furney A. Coleman, Randall Coleman and C.E. Coleman. Surviving are his wife, Juliette Coleman of Fairfield; a son, James Randall Coleman of Dallas; two brothers and sisters-in-law, John A. and Neva Coleman of Kirvin, Joe Carter and Mary Ann Coleman of Arlington; and two sisters and brothers-in-law, Floys Dean and Jerrel Little of Teague, and Frances Elizabeth and O.D. Christian of Kirvin.
