Freestone County, Texas Obituaries Kay (Humphries) Coleman December 4, 1942 - October 11, 2010 Biography Kay Coleman, 67, of Fairfield, passed away Monday, October 11, 2010 in Tyler. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church in Fairfield with Rev. Paul Kethley officiating. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 14, 2010 at the Tonkawa IOOF Cemetery in Tonkawa, Oklahoma with Rev. Michael Brannon officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Capps Memorial Chapel. Mrs. Coleman was born December 4, 1942 in Red Rock, Oklahoma to parents Ray and Mildred Meece Humphries. She taught public school for over 28 years and was a graduate of East Texas State in Commerce and received her master’s degree from the University of Texas at Tyler. She had been a Fairfield resident since 1992 moving from Coolidge. She married Robert Coleman in 1994 in Fairfield. She was a devoted member of the First United Methodist Church of Fairfield where she was a member of the choir, United Methodist Women and was instrumental in helping with the church’s pumpkin patch each fall. She was also a member of the Wilbur H. Bailey VFW Post 5872 Ladies Auxiliary and the Waco Gem and Mineral Club. Pallbearers will be Don Beene, Don Gunter, Terry Taylor, Larry Williams, Bob Henley and Sam Bill Bournias. Honorary Bearers will be Martin Knight, Aubrey Childs, Jim Hoskins and Ed Orand. Left to cherish her memory are her husband Robert; four children, Coty Dunklin and wife Pam of Sand Springs, OK; Linda Wallace and husband Lloyd of Richardson; James Coleman and wife Nicole of Vista, CA; Douglas Coleman and fiancé Heidi of Hannibal, MO; a brother, Vern Ray Humphries; three sisters, Darlene, Melba and Katz; eight grandchildren, Rachel Wooten; Madison Dunklin; Sara Duzyk; Ryan Wallace; Kevin Higgins; Trent Butler; Jacob Coleman; Lucas Coleman; three great-grandchildren, Bryson Wooten, Ashton Wooten; Kylee Wooten.
