ERNEST G. ``Happy'' COLLINS, SR., 73, a long time resident of Broaddus, Texas died November 28, 1997 in the Columbia Woodland Heights Medical Center in Lufkin, Texas. Born January 24, 1924 in Freestone County, Texas to the late Lawrence and Minnie French Collins. Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 30, 1997 at 2:00 P.M. at the Harvey Creek Baptist Church in Broaddus, with interment following in the Broaddus Cemetery. Masonic graveside rites will be conducted by the Broaddus Masonic Lodge where Mr. Collins was affiliated. He was active in the Lodge as having the York Rite, Scottish Rite, and the Shriner Rite. Officiating Clergy will be Rev. Richard Crawford, and Rev. Calvin Gould. Mr. Collins was a retired school teacher having taught for 41 years in the Broaddus I.S.D., he was also a Marine Corp. Veteran having served in World War II, and he was a member of the Harvey Creek Baptist Church. Survivors include: wife, Lois Collins of Broaddus, Texas; sons and daughters-in-law, Ernest Jr., and Pam Collins of Houston, Texas, James Larry and Clara Collins of Houston, Texas; daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Richard Craig of Houston, Texas, Denna K. and Tim Hargrove of Austin, Texas; grandchildren, Chloe Hargrove, Jeremy Craig, James, Jennifer and Joannie Collins; brothers and sisters-in-law, Howard and Lola Collins of Houston, Texas, Sharon and Marie Collins of Garland, Texas; sisters and brother-in-law, Mary Jo and Jerry Smith of Round Rock, Texas, Barbara Charanza of Caldwell, Texas. Active Pallbearers will be: Jeremy Craig, James Collins, Charles Ellis, and Kerry Collins, Clif Anderson, Donnie Puckett and Danny Anders.
