Freestone County, Texas Obits The Fairfield Recorder - Oct 2, 1885 edition DEATHS Died - At the residence of Mr. L. G. Sandifier, in Fairfield, Sept 27th 1885, after a painful illness of several months, Miss Julia Cotton, aged about 20, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Cotton. The deceased was a pleasant amiable young lady and her untimely death is regretted by a large number of relatives and friends. She had a severe attack of pneumonia last water, and though she survived it, her delicate constitution never recovered from the illness. As is often the case with pneumonia, her lungs became involved, and after being up several months, her health gradually gave way, and she faded like the blighted flower, until death claimed her for the grave. She bore her sufferings with patience and Christian fortitude. Her remains were interred in Fairfield cemetery Sunday evening, Elder E. J. Brown officiating. A large concourse of relatives and friends attended the sad funeral rite, and mingled their sorrow with that of the bereaved family.
